1.3 DEFINITIONS For the purpose of this Standard, the definitions below apply.
1.3.1 Cellular blanket —a blanket constructed so as to have a close and orderly distribution of hollows and holes. In woven blankets this can be achieved by leno weave.
NOTE: In certain sections of the trade the term is restrictively used to describe leno cellular blankets.
1.3.2 leno weave—a form of weaving in which warp threads are made to cross one another between the picks.
1.4 CLASSIFICATION Cellular blankets as specified in Clause 2.1 are classified as follows:
ClassC allcottoncellularblankets.
1.5 TEST SAMPLES The test sample shall be a whole blanket and shall be representative of the lot under test.
1.6 MARKING The following information shall be marked on each blanket using a label:
(a) Manufacturer’s registered name or trademark.
(h) The size of the blanket (see Clause 2.6).
(c) Fibre content, i.e. all cotton, in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 2622 (see Note I).
(d) Care instructions in accordance with AS/NZS 1957 (see Note I).
NOTES:
1 Reference should be made w relevant State and Federal Legislation for the labelling of fibre content and care.
2 Manufacturers making a statement of compliance with this Australian Standard on a product. or on packaging or promotional material related to that product. are advised to ensure that such compliance is capable of being verified.
This Appendix contains explanations, advice and recommcndjtions on the information to be pros ided by the purchaser. at the time of enquiry or order.

A3 INFORMATION TO fF1 PROI1)ED Il’ TIIl P1:RCIIASER To enable the supplier to fulfil the needs of the purchaser. the following information should be provided by the purchaser at the tinle of enquiry or tender:
(a) Sue of blankets required (sec Table 2.1).
(b) Colour of blankets.
(c) Any identification, such as stripes and lettering, which may be required on the blanket.
(d) Fire retardant hf required).
(e) Quantity.
(f) Delivery information.
(g) Special packaging requirements.
(h) Special package identification requirements.
(i) Defects which will or will not be acceptable.
(j) ‘The testing house hieh will be used in the event of any disagreement in test results.
