IEC 61334-4-33:1998 pdf download – Distribution automation usingdistribution line carrier systems -Part 4-33: Data communication protocols -Data link layer – Connection oriented protocol.
This part of IEC 61334 covers the services required of. or by, the data communication protocol (DCP) logical link control (LLC) subayer entity at the logical interlaces with the LLC-user layer and the MAC sublayer, using the connection-oriented LLC procedures
Services are specified showing the information flow between the LLC user and the MAC service, by describing the service primitives and parameters which characterize each service:
these service primitives are those specified in IEC 61334-4-32 and in this standard, only the specific details and changes for connection-oriented procedures are given.
The primitives in this standard are associated with the connection-oriented mode (CO) LLC protocol, providing connectionless services: a data transfer mode outside the connection context is also provided and harmonized with the CO procedures.
The way to set up. close down and monitor the connection status is provided through services primitives to the LLC sublayer management entity and these services are not made available to the LLC user interlace.

2.3 DL_Date.conflrm
2.3.1 Function
Subclause 2.3.1 of IEC 61334-4-32 applies with the following addition about the primitive significance.
This primitive has only local significance and provides an appropriate response to the ILC•CO user layer entity (network layer) which initiated a DL Data.request primitive, meaning the receipt of the LLC acknowledgement from the remote LLC peer entity in case of DL Data.request Lcls value equal to I CLASS.
2.3.2 Structure
Subclauso 2.3,2 of IEC 61334•432 applies, with the following addition about the Transmission_Status values.
Transmission_Status values include those which indicate unsuccessful transmission because of inconsistency in connection status between the LLC peer entities and transmission failed after the requested number of retries.
2.3.3 Use
Subclause 2.3.3 of fEC 6 1334-4-32 applies with the following addition,
This primitive is generated in response to a DL_Data.request primitive back to the local LLC User Layer entity, on an incoming acknowledgement of the related Information L_pdu.
It should be noted (see 2.4) that the acknowledgement is on a per station basis and the confirm generation does not imply the actual delivery of L_sdu to the remote LLC user entity.
2.4 DL_Data.lndlcatlon
2.4.1 FunctIon
Subclause 14.1 of lEG 61334•4•32 applies.
2.4.2 Structure
Subclause 2.4.2 of lEG 61 334-4-32 applies with the following addition about the Lcls parameter values.
The LcIs (Link class) parameter will specify the incoming L_sdu was included in a UI frame if its value s set to UI_CLASS, in an I frame if set to I_CLASS.
2.4.3 Use
Subclause 2.4.3 of IEC 61334-4-32 applies.
